at any rate the extra chips are automatically added when the activation fee is added. You should know that all new cards have an activation fee, and they put 15 extra chips on the card for that, so on a 4-pack that's an additional $12 fee. The only idea is maybe theirs is messed up and not working properly, or they havent restocked it with cards so an actual person needs to sell new cards, this does happen and in and of itself is not a red flag. You needed 4 cards so you asked for extra chips.what does this mean? What extra chips? Also by screens do you mean the kiosks, because the whole point of them is to add chips to cards. Just for clarity’s sake, I understand that tipping is normal in the US and rarely tip less than 20%, but I have never in my life had to tip for something like this and the dude was just super shady about it. We decided to let it go since it was our first time there and we just wanted to play some games, but I’d figured I’d ask you guys for future reference. We argued a bit and he essentially implied that it’s how it worked and that he lives on tips. When we got our receipts we saw he’d added an 18% tip for himself without asking. He came back with 4 cards and a credit card reader, and was very cagey about showing us the screen before asking us to tap our cards. We needed 4 cards so we asked for the extra chips (thanks to this board for the tip!) and a D&B employee told us that the extra chips couldn’t be purchased at the screens, only he could do it. Went to D&B for the first time last night. I'll update the thread if I hear anything back. I´ve already left a message with D&B guest relations, we'll see what happens. I know they took some action against the employee but don’t know what, exactly.Ĭalling the store itself was definitely the right move, thanks to everyone for their advice!Įdit: Definitely looks like we got ripped off. Update (): I eventually got a call from the manager at the location and they resolved the situation. However, keep in mind that MAIN EVENT DOES NOT APPLY GLOBAL SETTINGS - It is very likely even somewhat short amounts of significant AP on particularly games may invoke a nerf at YOUR store level. NOTE: This does mean that posts referencing advantage play at Main Event Entertainment are allowed here. However, this is why it is unlikely Round 1 will ever qualify for that.
